There are many OS (Operating Systems) being used in this world. Windows released the latest OS Windows 7 and Windows 8 is still in beta stage. Windows always did improvement in their OS. When the new version comes then the whole public forgets the earlier version and the flow is now on the new OS.
May be you are using Windows OS. If yes then ask yourself that did you ever tried to know something about it. What are the secrets? How they achieved such success? I surfed many times on net but all times I got that NO RESULTS FOUND. Today I thought that as me may be there are many internet users and especially Comp Talks users excited to know about windows. Here I am sharing their first to last step and whole history. And the Story Starts!
Windows 1.0 had only few features/applications like Windows Paint, Windows Write, A small Word Processor, Calendar, Notepad, Clipboard and a RAM driver. Making them was so hard at that time for bill gates. This version got a small success and the owner got courage to make another one with more features. You can see the picture below how he felt after completing Microsoft "Windows 1.0".
Now the Windows 2.0 was about to release and the excitement came again. This time it was with more courage and more hopes. It was containing more features and programs. Let's have a look at Features/Applications/Programs of "Windows 2.0". It was containing all the earlier features with some more improvement.
In this OS there were two new programs which got the attraction of users named Windows Excel and Windows Word. They were not opening by one single click as they open in latest versions. You have to open them from MS-DOS Executive. The Aldus PageMaker was a shock to Macintosh. This version became more popular in market and now it was time to design "Windows 3.0".
Then came some updates like 3.1 and NT 3.x and they were came with slight high user interface then Macintosh. After these release the statistics were like this. There are currently 70% Windows Users and 30% Macintosh users. Still Microsoft was hungry. Microsoft wanted to be 100% popular in market. Then the master piece Named Windows 95 came.

It is better than any other OS in that time (in my thinking) then came Windows ME and after that Windows XP came. Let us see more about it.

After Windows XP Windows Server 2003 came and after that some updates and after then came OS named Windows Vista for clarifying your PC world.

Windows 3.0

Windows 95
It had a Desktop, a start button and we can easily open applications with double click. There was a start button too. There was a welcome screen too. The software installation was easy, too. See the screenshot of the starting screen 'Windows 95".
So let’s continue our travel and drive to the new version after Windows 95.
Windows NT
After the success of Windows 95, Microsoft introduced Windows NT. Some more features like My Computer etc. I know it is not new for your but it was so new and surprising for users of that time. It was the first edition which had DirectX.It had a slight support of 3D graphics and 3D applications. It was containing Internet Explorer 6 SP1 too. Windows 2000
This version was released in February, 2000. It was really charming with best new features and higher graphics with a better user experience. They were got some bad reviews of Windows 95 so they fixed them all in this version. It was developed by higher technologies like DNS, LDAP and Kerbous.It was containing Windows Media Player, New DirectX, Device manager and more. There were 6 versions of Windows 2000 which are:
- Windows 2000 Professional
- Windows 2000 Server
- Windows 2000 Advanced Server
- Windows 2000 Datacenter Server
- Windows 2000 Advanced Server Limited Edition
- Windows 2000 Datacenter Server Limited Edition

Windows XP: Key to Viral Success
Not only me, the whole world known that this OS was a super hit and it went rapidly popular. It had tones of features. Microsoft got a huge success after release of this version. Windows Vista
Windows vista was released in 30 January, 2007. It came with highly improved graphics. It was totally a change. It was so fast and user friendly. See the screenshot of start screen and desktop of Windows Vista.
It has an attractive desktop and some wallpapers. Smooth gadgets at right side and the Windows button is the main attraction. Near the Windows button there are some icons. You can also add more via dragging them there. Design of its Control Panel is totally different from Windows XP and it is eye catching. It contains more security than any earlier OS with Use Account Control and. There were some new addictive games too.
Windows 7
It was the Major release of Microsoft. It has two code names "Blackcomb" and "Vienna". We call it optimized version of Windows Vista. It has a smarter taskbar than Windows Vista. I am also using the Ultimate version of Windows with 64-bit. See the desktop of Windows 7.
It is a new beginning in PC world with smart and smooth user interface and using experience. You can see the graphics of the wallpaper. They are Highly Optimized. There is some other wallpaper to use too. It has new style paint with more features and all things are optimized. Smart welcome screen and booting is also so fast.
Windows 7 came in 6 versions and they are:
- Starter
- Home Basic
- Home Premium
- Professional
- Enterprise
- Ultimate
What to Learn?
In life always we have to learn something from others to optimize our self. Do you know what to learn from this story? May be you got your lesson. If you didn't have then here it is. First climb on the first step of ladder. Slowly climb another. Yeah you are getting more confidence and more courage now.
